Liz and I closed on our new home on the 17th of March and moved in the following day. Since the 18th, we have: cleaned everything, moved our stuff in, painted the kitchen cabinets, met some great neighbors, even mowed the lawn. We had plans on having an amazing April Fools’ Party, but things are simply not ready. We are having painters come in and our kitchen hardwoods refinished. Too much is going on. I have even put off one of the largest projects I have been involved with. People keep asking me about this new project, and I want to tell them, but it is also not ready. Since I can’t divulge the project in its entirety, here are some clues:

Gillette Mach 3 Razors

I try to avoid reviewing the items that I put on Tom’s Kit, but I need to let everyone know – Gillette Mach 3 razors are the best, hands down! I have tried the 4 and 5 blade varieties to no avail. 3 is the magic number, period. Granted, every man’s skin and hair are different and a man should obtain and use what works best for him, but I strongly believe that the Mach 3 razors will be perfect for nearly every man. I use the Turbo variety.

The Gillette Mach 3 triple-blade razor was introduced in 1998 to great hype and fanfare. In a short time, it was flying off of store shelves. And it’s no wonder, as it is an excellent razor.

A razor is only as good as it’s blade, and the Mach 3 blades are excellent. They’re extremely sharp and durable; I get more shaves out of a Mach 3 blade than any other blade I’ve used. In front of the blades, ‘micro-fins’ are intended to help your hair stand up straight. Behind the blades, a ‘comfort strip’ is intended to soothe the skin. They seem to do their jobs, as the irritation level is pretty low. The blades have an interesting ‘open’ design that makes them easy to clean.

I Hate Ads

Granted, Google’s ads are the least intrusive, any pop-up balloon ads by Vibrant are much worse (Example at ExtremeTech). As soon as I see Ads By Google or those links with two underlines on a site, they immediately lose any credibility with me. First off, its looks unprofessional and cluttered. Secondly, if the site has such ads, it probably has really poor navigation which is not user-centric. Ads tell a lot about the website’s “backers.” It shows that the business model is “make money however we can,” and not, “let’s produce something great for our users/consumers.” Boo on anyone who uses them.

I Hate Red Light Cameras

Red Light Cameras do not work. They only bring in money to already corrupt local governments.
